Our idea and project under name “Implementation of Virtual Reality based learning methodology in secondary schools” is approved and financed by EU under Erasmus + program.
Partnership include different types of organizations: Local government of Ludbreg (CRO), four secondary schools (Ludbreg, Pazardzik, Kocani and Limassol), two NGOs LAG Kocani (MK), and CSEG(BG) and SMEs (CRO and CYPRUS).
Lunar is partner in this project.
Main idea of the project is to create innovative pedagogical and teaching methods which will be based on digital technologies. Implementing of Virtual Reality technology within the classroom means implementing unlimited possibilities for the learning process as innovative pedagogues and methods for teaching, learning and assessment.
Therefore, we have invented unique synergy between teaching materials and “escape room” concept.
By using latest virtual reality technology, idea is to place students into a virtual situation where they need to solve a problem related to the specific subject. Students would put on a VR headset and find themselves in a classroom they need to escape. In order to do that there would be a number of puzzles they would have to solve. Puzzles would be designed according to the specific subject (geometry, physics, chemistry, geography to name a few) to test students knowledge and learn how to use it in real life. For example, students would play in teams in the same virtual scenario and will have to find puzzles with specific shapes, build a prism out of them and place it to specific location which will refract the laser beam light pointing to the next task location. In this scenario students will have to think out of the box and come to an idea to turn on laser beam first. Next task could be from chemistry area where they will have to use water for specific interaction. Without having water in the scene they will need to come to solution and build it from two hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen atom which can bring physics assignment in the form of a chain reaction game. Possibilities are limitless and scenarios would be created by teachers and VR professionals in short term joint staff training events.
